Py- Candy

Thursday is my day off work and now that my two boys are back at school I can reacquaint myself with my weekly passion of charity shopping - and just look what I managed to find today!! A vintage American Pyrex dish (Corning NY USA) - (((very pleased!)))

Mother Hen

Branching out this weekend with a bit of mixed media - crochet meets fabric scraps and felt...

I made this little hen for a good friend of mine who is chicken mad.  The hen sits at a good  height of approx 20cm and I'm hoping will make a nice little addition to her menagerie.

I found the basic pattern for this little chick -a-dee on Ravelry (pdf pattern here) and customised her features with some fabric scraps. I think the possibilities are endless with this one - stripes, spots, gingham(!) etc..might have to make some more!

Amigurumi Robot

On this recent crochet kick of mine I have rediscovered the joys of Amigurumi.  I used to make loads of amigurumi toys for my two boys, but then they reached the stage when they just weren't interested in my offerings any longer, and I started to think 'whats the point...?'  ...but then when you enjoy making something who needs a point?!!  I am now going to cover my shelves and sideboards with cute and perhaps pointless amigurumi creatures just because they make me happy...

This latest wool creation is 'Robbie the Robot' and yes he does look rather rotund for a robot but he is not without charm!  Pattern taken from this book.

Hello...and some crochet

Blogging again, and after a productive Summer the creative juices feel like they have been fully replenished!
My crochet hook has been red hot these past 6 weeks and I am hoping to share some of my projects here on my blog again.

I have been experimenting with some crocheted jewellery lately and came up with a very simple necklace consisting of a simple chain interspersed with crocheted balls- loop it around your neck a few times and there you have it...more soon....
